Concentrating his marketing and promotional skills on the subject of sport, Patrick helped reinvent many traditional events into sophisticated vehicles through which companies could achieve kudos and exposure.

In the early 1970’s the ban on tobacco advertising on TV was key to his persuading Benson & Hedges to enter into snooker, squash, cricket and horseracing. By 1976 he had made close contact with FIFA and Coca-Cola – establishing both a global soccer development programme and securing underwriting for the 1978 World Cup in Argentina.

Contact and assistance for the General Association of International Sports Federations provided access to the top levels of all global sports – as did Patrick’s role with the World Games. He missed no opportunity to extend and develop the West Nally empire – also working closely with Horst Dassler of Adidas and the marketing departments of blue chip companies around the world.

Since 1987 at the end of the West Nally era, Patrick has continued to work as a consultant in a range of sporting areas and is now a lecturer in sports marketing. He has an office back in Berkeley Square and has launched this West Nally website as a repository for the many achievements of the West Nally Group. Also, so that students can use the materials in their study of sports marketing. As Patrick continues to lecture and provide advice, new materials will continue to added.
